Nikhil Roy serves as Project Coordinator for Energy Security, focusing on tea garden communities in Jalpaiguri District. A B.Com graduate (2004), he drives community engagement, renewable energy adoption, and capacity-building initiatives. His work includes organizing DRE demonstrations, facilitating solar training programs, and collaborating with government departments, Panchayati Raj institutions, and CSR partners to ensure sustainable energy access.

He has successfully promoted the adoption of over 100 decentralized renewable energy products, conducted intensive solar technician training for youth, and implemented solarisation projects in Forest Department resorts. His efforts have enhanced livelihoods, built local capacity, and empowered communities with clean energy solutions. He has also championed entrepreneurship in tea garden communities and partnered with NABARD and government departments to expand green livelihood opportunities.

Prior experience includes coordinating health and adolescent empowerment programs with BITAN NGO and the SABALA Project, managing educational centres, and delivering vocational training with Pratham Education Foundation. Outside work, he enjoys exploring new places, listening to music, and writing poetry.
