Mihir Kumar Barik

State Lead (EEWA Program)

Mihir Kumar Barik is currently serving as the State Lead (EEWA Program) in Odisha. His academic achievements include a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) in 2014, a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering in 2006, and NDT Level-II certification in 2014. Mihir’s professional journey is marked by significant accomplishments, including spearheading the implementation of model blocks in Odisha under the Jal Nidhi scheme, overseeing the construction of over 200 borewells that have benefitted 10,000 farmers.

His commitment to research is evident through collaboration with Wageningen University & Research Centre in the Netherlands, where he conducted research on SRI and labor issues in Odisha. Mihir played a pivotal role in the successful completion and handover of the GOSP-4 ARAMCO project to Saudi Arabia. With over 15 years of experience in the social development sector, spanning health, HIV, livelihood, agriculture, watershed, oil & gas, and MEP sectors, he has showcased expertise in both research and project implementation.

Mihir’s diverse skill set extends to the role of Senior QA QC Manager in Oman, where he contributed to various projects with the Royal Oman Police. Outside of his professional endeavors, Mihir engages in diverse hobbies, including learning new skills, socializing, playing cricket, singing, and indulging in travel and writing case studies and stories.
